An excellent area with predominantly post war detached and semi detached houses suitable for professionals, young families or the more mature. Here you're about a 15 minute drive or bus ride from the city centre but what I like is that within 15 minutes in the other direction, you can be enjoying Royal Deeside and the greenery of some of Aberdeenshires most beautiful countryside.

It is served by the newly re-built Airyhall Primary school which is a feeder for Hazlehead Academy, has a small park within walking distance, Johnston Gardens and Hazlehead Park about 5 minutes away with two 18-hole and a 9-hole municipal courses. Don't be put off by them being council run, trust me you'll be surprised when you play them. You can join as a member and because it takes no time to get there, it's not a bad option.

Pubs and eating out - well, within walking distance you have the Palm Court or the Treetops Hotel and that's about it. Queen's Road isn't far away and offers a little more choice or perhaps try the Cults Hotel.
